啊，今天奇妙的天有外国脸;只有一个有趣的事情了。看起来有一些人，想外国脸的人不行理解普通话。因此，非常有趣的局面出现。举例来说，如果我根我的狗在路上：
1 。有人看了我的狗想说什么给我。
2 。他看到我的脸是外国的和立即装聋作哑。
3 。他着手做了一系列的野生手势，并期待什么，我想某种民间舞蹈，试根我沟通。
4 。我看着他奇怪的是，因为我看不理解他的比划。
5 。他看我想我应该理解。
6 。我问他清楚明确的普通话， “您想要说什么东西吗？ ”
7 。他看我说： “我听不懂英文！” 。
8 。我再次问他清楚明确的普通话， “您想要说什么东西吗？ ”
9 。他答复“噢！你讲汉语啊！哈哈！ ”
10 。然后他开始交谈非常快和难的口语，东西我不会理解。
11 。我微笑和手波。
其次有时候商店售货员，看到我的脸，不告诉我总价，就旋转收银机的价格显示的东西对我，几乎打破，并强烈指着它，或来找笔笔和纸写下总价。我耐心地问他， “请告诉我总价所以我就可以付给你。 ”
大家，不要让外国的脸停止你说话，就用简单明了的语言，可能你会作出新的朋友！
Ah, yet another wonderful day here with a foreign face; just one funny thing about that. It seems like the are a few locals that think that anyone with a foreign face cannot possibly understand mandarin. So it is very funny situation that arises. For instance if I am walking my dog:
1. The person notices my dog and wants to say something to me.
2. They see my foreign face and instantly become mute.
3. They proceed to do a series of wild hand gestures and what looks to me like some sort of a folk dance to try and communicate with me.
4. I look at them strangely, as I cannot understand their gesticulations.
5. They look at me like I am supposed to understand.
6. I ask them in very clear plain clear Mandarin, “Is there something you want to say?”
7. They look at me and say in Mandarin “I don’t speak English”.
8. I ask them once again, in exactly the same very clear plain Mandarin, “Is there something you want to say?”
9. They reply “Oh! you are speaking Mandarin! HA HA!”
10. They then proceed to talk in very rapid colloquial Mandarin that I cannot understand.
11. I smile and wave.
Then there is the occasional store clerk, that sees my face and rather then telling me the total either rotates the price indicator on the cash register towards me almost breaking it and pointing at it vehemently, or runs into the back to get a pen and paper to write down the price. I patiently tell them, “Please tell me the total so I can pay you.”
Ah, what fun.
